The iPhone has always had a 3.5-inch display but with the introduction of the iPhone 5 it now has a 4-inch display. The iPhone 5 also sports the new A6 chip which performs twice as fast that the iPhone 4S making this the fastest iPhone yet. The cameras in the iPhone 5 are a minor step up from the iPhone 4S, it has the same 8MP camera but the optics of the camera have been improved to get the iPhone 5 better low light photos. Being that we are dealing with the latest technology it only makes sense for the iPhone 5 to have LTE data speeds. In most LTE areas users have been able to achieve download speeds of 30 Mbps or more. In order to keep the iPhone 5 thin and lightweight the 30-pin dock connector has been removed and replaced with a much smaller connector called Lightning. This is going to be the standard connection on all of Apple’s devices in the coming years and getting an iPhone 5 will ensure that all accessories that you buy in the future will work alongside of it. The only thing that might deter you from getting the iPhone 5 would be the price. With a new contract or an upgradable line the iPhone 5 starts at a price of $199 for a 16GB version and can go up to $399 for a 64GB with the $299 32GB in the middle. If the price doesn’t matter then the iPhone 5 would be the one to go with, if price made a difference then you may consider the iPhone 4S or iPhone 4.
Why You Should Get the iPhone 4S
If the iPhone 5 hasn’t gotten you then the iPhone 4S certainly is a great option and has many features that you’ll love. The iPhone 4S is the only other iPhone besides the iPhone 5 that has Siri, so if you’re looking to get an iPhone with it included this is going to be your last stop. The iPhone 4S does come with a speedy processor when compared to the iPhone 4, the A5 chip is quick and will certainly keep this iPhone is the game for a good while. The camera on the iPhone 4S is an 8MP camera and is capable of shooting video at 1080p HD video. This is a vast improvement over the iPhone 4 and is still on par with the iPhone 5. And being that at the time of writing the iPhone 4S is only a year old it’s going to be a lot cheaper than the iPhone 5. You can get an iPhone 4S with a new contract of an upgradable line for only $99. This is much cheaper that the iPhone 5 and will save you a bit of money if you’re on a budget. There are a few set backs with getting the iPhone 4S though. Being that the price is only $99 that only gives you one storage option, 16GB. While this may be plenty for some it is something to keep in mind if you want to store a lot of Apps and Music. It also doesn’t have a large screen like the iPhone 5, the iPhone 4S has the 3.5-inch screen that was standard on iPhone’s at the time. Also, the data speeds are not LTE, but this might not be a big deal to some as LTE isn’t a widely broadcast network, it mostly only covers major cities. But other than those few things, the iPhone 4S is great for someone on a budget that just want’s an iPhone.
Why You Should Get the iPhone 4
If you want to get an iPhone without having to pay a dime then the iPhone 4 is for you. The major selling point of the iPhone 4 is that you can get it for FREE just by signing a new contract or upgrading your existing line. This is great for those of you that just want an iPhone that doesn’t have any bells or whistles. The iPhone 4 has the same Retina Display that the iPhone 4S does so everything on it is going to look crisp and sharp in detail. But keep in mind that that iPhone 4 is an aging device, it doesn’t have Siri like the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5. You can get the iPhone 4 for free but it only comes in 8GB of storage so you won’t be able to store a lot of Apps or Music. And don’t forget that the iPhone 4 only has a 5MP camera and isn’t as good as the iPhone 4S. But if none of that matters to you and you just want an iPhone without costing you an arm and leg then look no further.
