Rcrdr, a beautiful and simple audio recorder that can automatically pause and resume based on background noise threshold. The interface is inspired by Dieter Rams’s famous design principle. When we first open the application we are immediately taken into our recorder. We first set the background noise threshold for it to stop recording when noise reaches below a certain threshold. We adjust the dial and set it to a certain threshold. Then we press the start recording button. You can see when there is noise, it starts recording, and when there is no noise, it automatically and immediately stops. You can see the amount of time recorded and the amount of total time elapsed. Once we are finished, we press the save button. We can then select our recording and go in and adjust the options. We can play it back and view the waveform and even skip forward and backward. Add in some notes and give it a title. And view more details about it. In this case we caught our partner snoring instead of shifting through hours of blank audio, we have just the parts where there’s noise. In the settings of the application, we can adjust the recording quality, file format and recorder mode. We can also share these by email, ftp and have it vibrate on starting and ending and pausing
and resuming. We can also send a URL to navigate to on our computer to copy audio here. Rcrdr for the iPhone. Pick it up in the App Store today.
