MileBug, the mileage log and expense tracker, is the most reliable GPS mile tracker for iOS and Android, that makes it easier to track your trips and related expenses so you can get the tax deduction that you deserve!

There are four main sections in MileBug that you’ll be spending most of your time in and those are Presets, Trips, Reports, and Backup. We’re going to dive into each section so you can fully understand how each works.

Before you begin tracking your trips you’re going to need to visit the Presets tab that way you can input the rates, businesses, vehicles, and expense categories that you’re going to be tracking. By default, you can track businesses, charity, medical, and other types of rates. What really sets MileBug apart is that all of the rates are automatically calculated for that given tax year. In the Business section, you’ll be able to input the businesses that you frequently visit. In the Vehicles section, you can add all the vehicles that you’ll be driving. The Expense Categories section will lie you to add any additional expenses such as tolls and parking. Once you have all of your presets filled out it’s time to begin tracking your trips.

To begin tracking your trips to visit the Trips tab and tap the plus button in the top right-hand corner. You’ll be brought into the Add Trip section where you can add and edit all of your trip details. You’ll be able to choose a starting time the business that you’re choosing to track for, your origin and destination, and your ending destination. You can input other details such is the purpose of your trip, any expenses, and even adding in your own detailed notes. There’s even an option to start GPS tracking which will take the GPS of your device and automatically adds all the points to the map and calculates your total distance traveled. When you’re done tap save and you knew the trip will be added out in the Trips tab.

When it’s time to report all of your mileage and get those much-needed refunds, head into to the Reports tab you can then export all of your trips into an HTML and/or CSV file. You can filter by date range, businesses, vehicle, and even date and time. When you’re done you can email those files to yourself or you can email them to your tax file or even your boss.

To ensure that all your information is safe and backed up, be sure and check out MileBug Cloud Access. This will allow you to store all of your trip information in the cloud so you can access it all of your devices. What’s really me about this service is that it works cross platform so if you have an iPhone an Android tablet, you will be able to access all this information matter what device you’re using.
