Keek is advertised as “the easiest way to create and share video updates with friends!” Sharing videos with friends and followers around the world has become as easy as sending a Tweet. If a picture is worth a thousand words, Keek’s 35-second video clips are four times better than Twitter. Keek offers users the opportunity to watch videos in a variety of categories including: the Latest Keeks, Most Viewed, and users who an individual can choose to follow.
As with all social media, it is clear that some uses are taking advantage of this opportunity to express their every thought to the world, including this young lady who used Keek to have a 35-second rant about the boys in her class who stole her headband. As with other social media outlets, Keek offers individuals an opportunity to share every miniscule aspect of their lives.
Keek also has a number of videos, which fulfill the “cute kid quota.” Parents are able to share their child’s every move with followers and family members worldwide. Grandparents, aunts, and uncles now get the opportunity to witness important childhood moments and respoind through “Keekbacks” or video comments.
Sharing videos has never been easier than with Keek. Users can create a Keek directly using the app or upload previously shot videos from their phone, iPad, or webcam. Once the video is uploaded, users have the option of saving their Keep for private viewing or sharing their Keek with the rest of the world.
Of course, celebrities have used this opportunity to further publicize their every move. Two of the hottest Keekers include Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Each of the Jenner girls has over 299 K followers. Keek offers their followers a new forum to respond to videos via text or by uploading a video response of their own, an opportunity Jenner fans definitely take advantage of.
As indicated by the accurate title in the list of “Latest Keeks,” many videos contain “Pointless Shit.” However, some users have taken advantage of Keek’s fan base to share memorable moments such as Usain Bolt’s 2012 Gold Metal Win.
Keek is the latest forum of social media communication to allow users to gather followers based on amateur video footage. Users interact through following, subscriptions, commenting, and video sharing. There is an endless supply of video clips which can be located using the “keyword, #hashtag or @username” criteria.
