The release of iOS 8 for iPhones brought with it a lot of extra useful features. One of those features is the ability to record and send voice messages right from the Messages app. Check out how to use Voice Messages on the iPhone 6.
- Open the Messages app.
- On any conversation, tap and hold the microphone button to the right of the text input to begin recording audio.
- Tap the Play button to preview the audio you just recorded.
- If you are happy with the recording, tap the up arrow to immediately send the audio message to your contact.
- Tap the X button to the left if you do not wish to send the recording.
- On sent audio messages, you can choose to store the message on your phone by tapping Keep next to the message.
- Otherwise, the default behavior is that Messages will delete the audio message after the person you sent it to has heard it.
