Since apps on your Nexus 6 take up the whole screen when they’re open, you might think that you can’t do any multitasking. Not true! Check out how to use multitasking on your Nexus 6:
-
The Recents Carousel on Nexus 6 Tap on the Recent Apps icon in the navigation bar (the square icon) at the bottom.
- You will see a carousel of the most recently used apps as cards in chronological order, with the last app appearing first.
- Scroll through and tap on any app to launch the app to its previous state.
- To close an app and prevent it from using any processing power or RAM, swipe the app card out of the carousel or tap the X icon in the top left corner of the card to remove.
Unless you are otherwise doing something that is taxing on your phone’s processing power and RAM, most apps will remain exactly where you left them until you return. This functionality enables you to actively switch between multiple apps, simply by tapping the Recents button.
