We’ve all been there: someone invites us to a group message and our phone is suddenly buzzing every five seconds. Fortunately, there’s a way to escape. Check out how to leave those annoying group messages on your iPhone 6.
- Open the Messages app, and navigate to the group message you want to leave.
- Tap on Details in the top right corner.
- Tap on the Leave this Conversation option to leave the conversation entirely.
- “Leave this Conversation” will be grayed out if not everyone in the group message is using iMessage.
- If the Leave this Conversation option is greyed out, you can select the Do Not Disturb toggle.
- This option prevents your phone from notifying you of new messages in the conversation.
- To completely disable your phone from receiving any group message notifications or a conversation showing in the Messages app, you can open the Messages menu in the Settings app and disabling the Group Messaging toggle.
- NOTE: this prevents you phone from ever seeing or receiving notifications from any group messages you are added to as long as this toggle remains off.
