Gesture Based iPhone Apps
If you’ve ever held an iPhone one of the first things that you’ve used on it, if you’ve noticed or not, was the multi-touch surface. The multi-touch surface is what allows us to interact with our iPhone to get things done and to use the many applications that we put on our phone. By just the flick or tap of a finger we can control what is happening on our iPhone. Some of the common gestures that we use to interact with our iPhone are: pinch to zoom, swiping, spread to expand, tap, flick, etc.
Some of Apps that can be purchased through the App Store have been built to take full advantage of the multi-touch surface by allowing you to interact with the application through gesture-based input. We are going to take a look at a few gesture based iPhone apps.
Clear is an amazing new app for list-keeping that is unbelievably simple, quick, ad satisfying to use. Clear has been built from the ground up to be used as a gesture based iPhone app. This app uses swiping, pinching, flicking, and spreading to add simple tasks. If you wanted to this app could be used with a single hand due to it being so gesture driven. You can swipe to add new tasks, pinch to change lists, swipe to delete, swipe to complete and spread to add new tasks. Clear is a very polished and easy to use gesture based iPhone app.

Sleipnir Mobile for iPhone and iPad
If you’re tired of the same old Safari for iPhone why not give Sleipnir a try. It’s a great gesture based web browser for the iPhone and iPad. This application is fun to use because you can use your fingers to interact with the web browser to do functions such as: switch between tabs, close tabs, perform a web search, go full-screen, refresh the current window, restore tab, and more. This is great because you don’t have to worry about fiddling with small buttons off in the corner of a screen to get things done. You’ll find yourself zipping and zooming the web like never before with this gesture based iPhone app.

This is a really neat gesture based music player. When your in Q It you can use gestures to control the music that is playing, add songs to a playlist, change the volume, skip songs, and fast forward or rewind songs as well. The gestures work great and help you focus on listening to music rather than messing with menus and playlists. This great because you don’t have to worry about looking down at your iPhone to skips songs or pause them, all you have to do is tap on the screen. There is a paid version of this app that will remove the banners and let you change the color schemes as well.
