Follow the Yellow Brick Road

The world of social networking is vastly growing and ever changing. All you have to do is blink and it seems that two more sites pop up helping you connect to your friends. Needless to say, it is very rare that an app or site for social networking actually stands out, or has the potential to make it somewhere.

Path is an app that works. People you allow to follow you can view your page like a timeline, literally, as you scroll you see a clock update for what time you are viewing their path at. You can share just about anything on Path, what you’d like to say, what music you’re listening to, where you’re at. All kinds of neat things.

In your home screen you can see the path of you and everyone you follow, setup with the same clock feature that each of you and your friends’ paths have.

When you request a friend and they decide to check out your path, a banner appears at the bottom of the screen, letting you know that the person has visited your path.

A neat way that this app is unique is that it allows for a certain level of customization. You can add a profile photo, but most apps allow you to do that, and you can add a cover photo to appear at the top of your path. It is a neat way to add your own little flavor to the app.

So not only does this app allow you and your friends to stalk each other’s lives as much as you want them to, it is actually a really nice looking, comfortable app to use. If you’d like to follow the yellow brick road of your friends’ lives, go ahead and pick up this app. But don’t mind the man behind the curtain…
