Digital cameras are usually equipped with entirely digital controls. As such, it’s possible on many cameras to customize the physical controls for added convenience and speed. The Sony Alpha a 5100 is no exception, and below we discuss how and which controls can be customized.
Although many of the buttons and controls on the a5100 are locked to their specific function (and for good reason), there are five buttons that can be customized to different functions than their default: The multi-controller’s select, left, right, and down buttons, and the Guide/Delete button.
To customize the function of each button, open the settings menu, navigate to the fifth page of the Custom Settings tab, open the Custom Key Settings menu, then select one of the five buttons to customize. Any of the five buttons can be used for one of these settings or shortcuts:
