Chef Review written by Matthew Andrews
Chef is a very handy application for those that feel a sense of joy every time they walk into a kitchen. Essentially there are three main sections to this app: a grocery list, an index of your recipes, and an index of recipes that others have submitted.
The application works in conjunction with www.chefslittlehelper.com, which means that you can’t get full use of this application without registering for free on the website. For example, users can’t actually submit a recipe to their list through the application; that all has to be done from a computer and then accessed through the app. That may be a hindrance to some users, but if you’re the kind of person who needs a lot of recipes at their disposal because you’re going to be making a lot of meals, the pros outweigh the cons.
The best part about this application is the connection between the grocery list and the recipes. Once you have all of your recipes added to your account, all you have to do is find that recipe and hit one button in order to add all of the necessary ingredients to your grocery list. That list can also be organized by product type (dairy, meat, etc.), as well as by recipe, easily making you the most organized shopper in the supermarket.
This is a great application if you’re willing to sacrifice the all-mobile benefits that come with other recipe options, a problem that I’m sure will eventually be corrected in future updates.
